General FAQs

What is Syndigo Verified Content?

Syndigo Verified Content is "on package" product content and dimensions, verified by the Syndigo team and the Syndigo data quality engine. As a result of this extensive but efficient verification process, Syndigo Verified Content is trusted by both brands and retailer/recipients alike. For some retailers, Syndigo Verified Content is the ONLY content accepted!

What is the Marketplace?

Once a Product has been verified, the Syndigo Verified Content for that product is accessible within the Marketplace. Here, brands and retailers can view and/or download Syndigo verified content. For recipients that accept brand-added content, users can edit or supplement this verified content to fit the needs of various stakeholders.

What is the CPG Network (Grocery Panel)?

A group of participating retailers who receive Syndigo Verified COntent directly and automatically from Marketplace, often via a weekly/biweekly pull of predetermined UPCs.

When will my products appear in Marketplace?

Approximately fifteen business days (three weeks) after your submission has been received. If items are not verified and present in Marketplace by four weeks, contact Syndigo for an update.

How is "Syndigo Product Name Generated?"

The Syndigo product name is autogenerated from various fields captured during the Content Verification process. These fields may include:

  • Brand Variety (dietary/pack size/color etc.)
  • Scent.
  • Flavor Name.
  • Item Name.
  • Item size and measure.

How is marketing copy generated?

The Marketing Copy field is a concatenation of 12-15 attributes captured during the Content Verification process. All items with consistent packaging processed through Content Verification will have the same marketing information structure.

Update and Alteration FAQs

Can Marketing Copy be altered on the images in Marketplace?

No. The goal of Syndigo Verified data is to provide unaltered package data to the recipient to use as they see fit. However, for recipients that accept it, you can provide supplemental, Brand Created Content to override the provided Syndigo-Verified data.

What is Brand Created Content?

Brand Created Content is content created and managed by the brand owner. This content is privately managed and published directly to individual recipients from your Product Index. It does not have the same benefits or default reach as Verified Content. Not all Verified Content recipients accept Brand Created Content.

Who accepts supplemental data?

How do I change my product name?

The item name in Marketplace is pulled directly from the packaging of your product and includes Brand, Variety, unit size, etc. While some retailers will use this name verbatim, many will alter the name to fit their own specifications. Before attempting to deliver a different product name to your retailer, check the retailer site to see how it appears to customers, as they may not be using the Marketplace product name at all.

How do I update digital assets for Marketplace products?

  • Update for all retailers: Send in your physical products or digital renders for a verification "refresh" to replace the outdated image in Marketplace.
  • Update for select retailers: Add an override in your Product Index and publish for retailers who accept supplemental content.

What if I don't see my content on my retailer's website?

  1. Confirm your data is live in Marketplace. If all information is in the Marketplace, it is available and ready to be received by the retailer.
  2. Reach out to the retailer and confirm that they are expecting your product and are on track to pull the item.
  3. Reach out to your Syndigo contact letting them know the issue and that you have already reached out to the retailer.
